Snopocalypse 2010: Day 2

The little family cemetary at the end of my mothers driveway. Snow made it through the boughs of Virginia's 3rd largest magnolia tree, which umbrellas over the grounds. The headstones that are half-consumed by the roots of the tree (even including the original cemetary gate) are barely visible beyond the surface of the snow.

Seaboard rd; Frozen

What little weardown some of the 4x4 trucks cut into the street is now reduced to two parallel lines in the street, made of black ice. I attempted to walk to the nearest 7-11 this morning for a coffee and gave up halfway down the road. Almost sliding down an ice-glazed slope into a ditch is a real motivation killer.

Delivered as promised: Snowpocalypse

A veiw out my window at 7AM this morning. First snow Virginia Beach has had (or will have) in quite a while. Though you cannot see it in the picture, the road between VA and NC runs right through here and has been completely neglected. Ultimately, I've been snowed in, so it would seem. I'm sure, however, that as soon as the Sol pops out from the horizon, all of this will turn into one slushy memory.

All plans for the day, despite how awesome they may have or not have been, fell through. So to celebrate yet another complety wasted day-off, I made for myself a black and tan, from boddington's and murphey's stout (respectively). It's about the ugliest one I've made thusfar but man is it worth it! Here's to you 'best laid plans...'
